Question
Hello, I am conidering a bunny as a pet but have some questions first which I was hoping you could help me with...

How large would a cage for an adult mini rex sized rabbit need?

Do rabbits enjoy sitting on a lap and being petted? do they enjoy human company at all?

Would a single rabbit be ok? as I don't have room for two.

Is Kaytee forti-diet a good brand to feed? do they need fresh vegtables daily as well? what about hay?

How much time each day should the rabbit be allowed to run outside of its cage?

And laslty how long would a minuture/small breed live?

Thank you for any help in advance.

Answer
Hello,

The rule is as big as you can fit but it shouldn't be any smaller than 4x2x2 with 4 feet being either the length or the width.

Mine always loved being petted. I had a holland lop and she would go to sleep on her back in my lap and just love being snuggled.

A single rabbit is okay. It will need more attention than if you had two however.

Kaytee and Marzuri are my favorite brands. Try to get Marzuri if you can, Kaytee is still good too though.

Fresh veggies... maybe an inch of carrot a week. Don't over-do it or you'll end up with the bunny runs.

Timothy hay every day and an occasional handful of alfalfa as a weekly (or so) treat.

An hour minimum of outside cage playtime is best. This could be running around or being carried around.

A mini would live about 6-7 years I believe.

Hope this helps!
