Quarantine

Question
I've been talking to some chinchilla groups, and they kept bringing up "quarantine".
I've asked them what the presider is, but I wont be hearing the answer for about a week. (It has to go through a process thing)

I'm worried. When I received he 2 new chinchillas(males), I placed them in my room, and put their cage beside(in font) of Leos cage.
I think I'm doing this wrong. Can I go back to step number one without confusing he little darlings? Can I do the "quarantine" in the same room?
See.....I have an AC, and its ONLY in my room. And I'd HATE to have to bring the new chinchillas out in the heat in the hall way.

Please help me:(

Answer
Quarantine is a big thing.

Definately seperate them as MUCH as you can straight away. I would say the damage is done if the have already been out for playtime together which is a real no-no. Honestly.

You will NOT confuse 'the little darlings' by seperating them. Certainly not. There are risks either way...In the hallway with no A/C & in the A/C room with risk of infection etc.

But no, you cannot do a quarantine in the same room. I don't know what more to tell you. I can only suggest...Don't get anymore chinchillas.
