Spiny Mice

I have two male spiny mice. I give them crickets once a week. Mice food. Yogurt drops for mice once in a while. My question is, would I be able to give them a small piece of cheese once a month as a treat?

About the cheese: cottage cheese is a good idea, but any cheese is fine as long as it's only a very small piece and the cheese mustn't be spiced or too salty.
