Which Gender?

I'm thinkning of getting a rat.  But I would like to know whats the best gender to get.  I don't want a high strung one.  And i'd like one that would be contint on just sitting on my shoulder.  Which gender is best for something like that?

Without a doubt, get a male rat. The females are more athletic and not as much cuddlers as the males. You cannot just get one rat. Get two males, ideally from the same litter.
