Male pair turns out to be male/female pair!

Question
Hello again Samantha

My black crested female is getting rounder and getting longer too, I've had the pair for six dats now and had to put the male in a different cage yestereday due to him bothering the female. She is still eating and drinking well, she acctuly looks like a three month old guinea pig now that shes gotten a bit longer. Everything seems to be going well thou when I changed there cage two dys ago I couldnt feel the babys moving I figured they just weren't moving at that time. Its been five days today that I noticed she was pregnant how much longer will it be before they are born? I only felt the babys kicking a day after I bought her maybe they were kicking a few days before that if so they will be born sooner? Also should I be feeding her timothy and alfalfa hay? She gets pellets, carrot pieces, water melon pieces and timothy adn alfalfa hay daily. Will the pregnancy stop her from becoming a normal sized pig?

Thankx

Answer
Hello,

alfalfa- you are only supposed to give to pregnant or nursing mothers.
you are doing a wonderful job feeding her and makesure that she is in a non stressful invorment.
The babies sometimes rest and they don't kick. Don't be worried but if you are you should call the vet!
If you could when they are borne e mail me and send pictures:) .

One of my girls are due to have her abaies 2 weeks from now!

if you feel that she is not well you should take her to the doctor (vet)

I had explained about thew pelvic bones before they open up to allow the babies to be pulled out (guinea pig babies are pulled out by their teeth).
