Question
Hi, my parents had to go somewhere and I had to go to my grandmas and take my guinea pig with. But she lives in the desert, and pretty quickly, my long haired breed who is used to cold started sleeping when he usually runs around in circles and when I blew in his fur a ton of REALLY hot air cam rushing out. I'm thinking of cutting it a couple centimeters or even maybe an inch, but first I NEED to know how fast guinea pig fur grows back. I am worried about him because one time I had to go to my grandmas for just the weekend, and I brought my short haired hamster with and he died of heatstroke the next morning, and I am afraid the same will happen to my guinea pig. HELP ME!!!!!

Answer
Hi Crissy

The hair will grow back over a few weeks.

Heatstroke shouldnt be a problem as long as you keep the piggy in a room with a fan (or air conditioning). Piggies do suffer from heatstroke but as long as you take precautions you shouldnt have any problems.
