Question
QUESTION: Hello. I live on a tropical island, rather isolated, very difficult to get hay for bedding and feed. Is it ok to use dried coconut fronds for bedding, and is it ok for the guinea pig to chew on it? Tried drying long grass for hay, but it's too humid here.

ANSWER: well if it is hot then i doubt they will need too much bedding for starters, the coconut fronds as a floor bedding should be okay providing that it is soft, i would include the long grass anyway as they need it as a part of their diet (unless you have a lawn that it is always on. really so long as it is warm where you are then all they need is a soft flooring, fleece material would probably be the ebst option, but remeber they need to have a regular supply of grass

best of luck sam

QUESTION: Is it ok for them to chew on the coconut fronds? They nibble at everything. As for the grass, I'll just let them out to pasture. :D!

Answer
sorry aout my awful spelling before i was in a bit of a rush, no the fronds should be fine to nibble as long as they have not been treated with any chemicals. My only concern is the piggie getting bumblefoot from the fronds being to oharsh on its feet, but so long as they are soft then i think it is fine for them.
