Question
QUESTION: hi mary!
I've had a gp for 1 month and at first he had white watery pee and firm hard poo
but now he has sqishy poo but doesnt have white pee.

is this ok?

ANSWER: Hi
I would not worry too much about the colour of his pee unless he is squeaking when passing water.
As for his poo,it depends on how soft the pellets are. Guinea pigs eat some of their poo ( Coprophagy )and these are usually the squishy ones.
Are the pellets more or less the same size?
If you think they are turning a bit runny, remove all greens from the diet and just feed hay and normal dry food.
Dont hesitate to get back in touch if you need to

Answer
Hi
Hmmm guines pig toys!
They dont really play with toys but here are a couple of suggestions which they might play with.
Get and empty loo roll inner and stuff it with hay not too tight, the piggies will toss it about and feed from it.
Tunnels and cardboard boxes with a front and back entrance hole.
Small sturdy boxes for jumping up onto. You can hide tit bits up on these boxes to encourage the piggies to jump up and forage.

Nail clipping takes confidence and competence. Dark coloured nails are harder to see. Pale pink nails are better as its easy to spot the "quick" and know how far down to clip.
You will need someone to hold your piggy for the first few goes so you dont panic and cut the quick.
Only clip a tiny bit off at a time, making sure you cut clean and not leave any ragyy bits of nail.
I use normal household nail clippers for my piggies. I flip them over onto their back and hold them in the croook of my left arm and hold the foot steady with my left hand, this frees my right hand up for accurate clipping. It takes practise and patience. Your piggy may make a right racket and sound as tho you are performing surgery but dont be alarmed as it DOES NOT hurt them as long as you dont cut the quick.
