Question
This morning we noticed our cavie (male single young) tilting his head. I knew immedietly I needed to see the vet and did he took a swab of his ear and looked at it under a scope but said it wasn't wry neck but just an ear infection...he treated him with Mometamax...which has Gentamicin Sulfate,Clotrimazole in a otic solution said to treat ear once a day for two weeks....it has been 8 hours cavie appears to be getting worse ..can't stand up and if he does falls over when he tries to move...I have observed him eating very little today...do you have any other solutions??

Answer
Hi
I would give the medication longer to work as 8 hours is not long enough to decide if its working or not.
Did you vet state if the infection was parasitic or fungal?
If you are worried ring your vet and ask him how long to wait before you see an improvement and if necessary take him back to the vets.
Good luck
