whats the least a hampster can cost?

Hi Denise,

    Usually, a hamster will cost around $7.50 at most pet stores (at least the ones I've been to).  This is probably the cheapest, although if you have a friend who has a hamster with babies, you can always get one of the babies when it reaches 6 weeks old.  
    However, the cost of a hamster's needs is not as cheap.  You must buy a cage (which can range from $20-90), along with a water bottle, food bowl, solid-surface wheel (some cages come with all of these items, such as the Crittertrail cages), and good quality food.  I know this sounds like a lot of stuff, but actually it is pretty cheap for an animal, especially compared to a cat or dog.
