Another Litter?

Hi, My hamster Daisy had 15 babies June 18th. All of them died from wet tail disease. Anyway question is... I really, really miss the little guys, it was my first litter too. So Daisy's 9 months old now and I was wondering if she can have some more? I won't mate them as much because having 15 babies was one of the problems of why they died. E-mail me back!!

hi Kiana,

yes its fine to breed her again, although she is nearing the end of her fertile period, you shouldn't breed them after a year old, there is more chance of complications. Be sure to clean them as soon as the mother allows you near the cage, which you should never do in the first week or too, she will reject the babies otherwise.
