Possible Sickness?

Well, I've been watching my hamster for a day or two, and he's been sleeping more than normal, and his rump is dirty and sweaty looking. I also notice a gooey substance coming from his penis that looks like a more solidified version of urine. Would this probably mean sickness? And if so, what? Thank you SO much!

HellO!!! Yes your hamster is sick. what you are seeing is diarrhea. He has what is known as wettail it's a common bacterial infection in hamster. Buy some dritail immediently and give it to him. Change his bedding at least twice a day and make sure to wash his water bottle really well. You want to keep it clean as possible since you don't want him to get it again. But buy some dritail and give it to him. Give him 8 drops a day you will have to pick him up by the scruff of the neck and put the dropper in his mouth and give it to him. He will hate you for it but it will work out. If it doesn't seem to get better within 2-3 days take him a vet to get some bacterial medication. Good luck and keep me posted.
