I'm replying to your question about Honey's wheel. Her house is one of those Penn Plax princess house by S.A.M. So the wheel is one that is attached to the side of the house and you can remove it to clean it and stuff like that. Honey keeps putting her bedding in that wheel and sleeping there. Do you have any advice on how to keep her from making her bedding in the wheel? I'm just concerned about her getting her excercise and if her beds in the wheel she can't do that.

Hi Lauren,

    The type of wheels that come with these hamster houses are semi-enclosed (just the front is open so the hamster can get in it). I'm not really sure why hamsters love to put their bed in them unless it's makes them feel more secure.
    You could try removing that wheel and and putting in a free standing one if the cage is big enough. (not the ones made out of wire because these types are harder on the hamsters feet and they usually end up with cuts) or you could buy a hamster ball (if you do not already have one) and put your hamster in it for about an hour every evening so she can get her exercise.
