How old Gerbils can be....

How old can Gerbils be to give them away? For an example: I'm ging to buy a Gerbil in 3 weeks, I need to know how old they need to be to buy the Gerbil. I'm going to buy a baby Gerbil of course.

thank you for your question.
They should be at least five weeks, better 8-10 weeks old, they need that time with adult gerbils to be properly socialized. Since they can breed at that age, make sure you get them from a breeder who keeps them in groups of the same sex.
I recommend getting two gerbils since they are very social and need company. It's not harder to tame two gerbils than one and they won't get bored if you don't have time for them.
