Question
I dont know how a good a question this is but I am really worried so here it goes.I have a hamster named Larry. I got him about two weeks ago. I feed him and give him water and everything and pay attention to him. However I put him in his little plastic ball and left him in there on accident for alittle too long. Anyways when I tried to get him out he went all crazy and he is normally not like that. He also has a sticker of a hamster that was on the ball stuck to his back. So I guess I have two questions. First is he going to be okay now even though he was left in there too long because I feel so bad about the whole thing. And can he get that sticker off himself because I tried and he ran from me. I am sorry if this was a dumb question but I was just curious. Thanks a bunch.

Answer
Hello Raven, There are no dumb questions.  When a hamster is allowed that much freedom (Larry got a BIG dose of freedom by being allows to run around longer than recommended)  of course he would freak out when his freedom is interrupted.  It could also be that he might have dozed off and when you found him you might have startled him.  If the sticker is bothering him, then you should try to remove it, even if he freaks out.  If you are to remove the sticker I would wear some gloves just for safety (you never know how he will react to the feeling of peeling off the sticker) because it might feel like peeling off a bandaid to the hamster or just be very careful and always expect a little nipping since he is still new (this doesn't mean he will bite but you must always expect the worst) do NOT get discouraged because Larry will never mean any harm.  Maybe you can try to moisten the sticker before removing it.  You've only had him for two weeks so things are still new to him, never get discouraged take everything as a learning experience.  He will calm down when he learns that you do not want to hurt him.  I hope this helps you out! Let me know if you have any more questions! Have a great day/night!
