Swollen bottom

Question
I bought my hamster about a week ago, it has had a swollen bottom for the past 3 days.  Is this normal?  The pet store said it was a male aproximatly 6 months old

If the bottom is a little swollen and light pink then maybe it's just it's bottom but if the bottom is black it is a big problem and call a vet quickly.
