Constipation...?

Hi, this morning when I woke up, my gerbil was just sitting there, and it looked like he was trying to poop... But I'm not sure... he wouldn't eat lettuce, and he wouldn't eat his normal food... I don't know what's wrong with him, but I am almost sure it's constipation. My gerbil is a few years old, but I don't know the exact age. He is slightly overweight.

Hello, sorry for not replying sooner, I thought I had pressed send but it seems that I didn't. If your gerbil is constipated try putting a piece of strawberry in his mouth. Him being a few years old means he is old and pretty much getting along well in years and so this could also be a part of old age. Try the strawberry and see what happens.
