Is your hamster itching a lot? Are there any scabs aournd his private area, nose or ears?

Well, im not sure if hes itching but hes always trying to groom his sores but he may be itching too with his teeth. There arent any scabs around his nose or ears but some around his privates but mostly his stomach.

I'm really not sure. Part of your question sounds like it's just old age and the other leads me to think that it could be mites. I would suggest treating your hamster with a mite spray that can be found at your local pet store (it is a mite spray for birds and small animals) and follow the directions on the can. If your hamster does not get better after the treatment then you may want to take him to the vet.
