Question
My syrian teddy bear hamster had a litter of 8 pups. she ate 1 and left another by itself often. she doesn't seem to care for this pup and it's the thinnest out of them all. my mother and i have decided to take care of the pup, we are giving it kitten's milk. the problem is the hours. how can we feed the pup every hour? would that mean we can't sleep? i'm confused. please get back to meas soon as possible.

Answer
Hi Kira,

Well, you definitely have your work cut out for you.  It's very difficult to raise a baby hamster.  You can sleep, but you'll need to set your alarm clock to wake you every 1-2 hours.  Perhaps you and your mother can take turns.  I know it's difficult; I had to do the same thing with a baby rat.  And, like I said, you definitely have your work cut out for you, so you'll need to be determined.  And don't forget to keep the pup warm.

I wish I knew more on the subject, but I would advise you to call your vet for further information.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.
