how to put to sleep...

my hamster was attacked by my ferret, it didnt die, but the ferret broke its back, and now the hamster has lost use of its lower body and is very weak and sickly, but i dont have the money to put it to sleep at the vet, are there any ways i could do this on my own?

im so very sorry to hear this, the poor little thing must be in alot of pain so your doing the right thing by wanting to put him to sleep.

id still urge you to try and see a vet, ask them to send the bill to your house which you can pay when you can afford it. call the vets and ask how much it will cost, also tell the vets what happened. they will probably do it for free as as the poor little soul is in so much pain.

however damon, im not going to suggest any methods to kill him yourself incase they dont work and the poor mite turns out even worse. if you still cannot see a vet, your hammie will eventually die on his own. just keep him as warm and as comfortable as you can, when he is trying to walk somewhere, veryvery gently lift him. he will pass away soon though, as he'll get very dehydrated.
