My gerbils

Question
I got two gerbils just a couple of months ago the are called Prince and Sam one is fully black with a bit of white on its paw and the other is fully brown since i got them my Uncle kept on saying that the can change sex so i ma just wondering can they cause it really worries me ??

P.S if they can tell me what age the will be to have them ??

I've never heard of them changing sex.  I know that sometimes it can be a bit of a worry if you see them mating as even same sex ones sometimes behave like this, but I'm not aware that they can actually change sex.  I have kept tanks of single sexed gerbils for a number of years and I have never known this to happen.
