my hamster tedddy

Question
   I have a hamster named Teddy and he has a runny nose and is sneezing alot. I asked my mom what I should do and then I thought that I should take him to the vet. My mom's friend just called and my mom told her about the problem. My mom's friend told my mom about when her son had a dog and he was sick and they told her that she could give him human medicine. My mom told me to give my hamster human medicine like Tylenol. I told her that a dog was different from a hamster so that I couldnt give him human medicine. She wont let me go to the vet until she finds out if we can give Teddy Tylenol. So we thought we'd ask you.I know this is confusing but please try your best.

Dear Shannon,
thank you for your question.
You definitely cannot give your hamster any human medicine, Tylenol or anything else might kill him (the same goes for dogs, although there might be exceptions). You definitely need to see a vet as soon as possible, respiratory infections can kill rodents quickly.
