Question
My dwarf hamster is fatter than she use to be. I feed her healthy things and no sugar or anything bad for her such as chocolate, ect. I am concerned though... shes 1 year old and doesn't go on the wheel much. If she does. (Like right now I can hear her) I'm positive its not that long. I do put her in a hamster ball to make sure she is getting enough exercise. Do you think she is getting bored or just plain slow sometimes.

Answer
Wow, thank goodness I am not the only one with a fat, lazy one year old dwarf hamster. Your hamster is perfectly normal. She's just lazy which is what happens. I hardly ever see my hamster on the wheel and he is so fat that he can't turn around in the plastic tubes because he will get stuck. I may even have to change his cage out since he seems to be having trouble climbing up one tube to get to his food and water. The only time I see my hamster really move is when I put his favorite treat in there which is munchables shred-a-box and his food. The Shred-a-box treat is an awesome way to get hamsters active for a while.
Your hamster is perfectly fine though, just getting lazy and comfy.
