Question
i bought a gerbil two weeks ago. wel the second night we had her she had a litter of 5 babys well its been about two weeks now and their doing ok but i dont know when we can touch them or anything like that or when to seperate the males from the females and such. if you could help me i would greatly appreciate it. thank you

Answer
Hello Desiree,
you can actually start holding the gerbils right now actually, but be sure to hold them in a safe area so if the gerbil babies fall they will not injure themselves. They are very good at jumping at this age. Also, it's good to seperate the babies at around 4 weeks of age. :) You can keep the females together and I would buy another cage for the males. :) I hope this helps.
