lazy or not?

QUESTION: ever since my dwarf hamster had pups, all the father does now is lay around and sleep in his box. i rarely ever see him anymore. is there something wrong with him?

ANSWER: How old is he? Are you keeping him in the same cage as the pups and female? Please get back to me  and answer my questions so that I can answer your's.

QUESTION: I'm not sure how old he is, but i bought him from a petstore 2-3 months ago. and yes, i'm keeping him in the same cage as the mom and the pups. they seem to be okay with it...

He may just be bored. Try giving him something to do. For instance, give him his food in a paper towel roll, or give him nuts with hard shells  that will take him a while to knaw through. All of the hamsters may benefit from this.  If hamsters are busy, the don't have time to mope :) Also, offer fresh greens. Even grass works well.
If this doesn't work, he is probably sick, and you need to take him to the vet.
