Hamster with a habit...

Hi, i got a male golden banded syrian hammie about a month ago and he is about 2 months old. He is so cute && very friendly! But he has one bad habit.. He CONSTANTLY is spitting feces???? is that normal?
Another question: I heard that hamsters use those hammie potties so i got one, and at first he seemed like he was using it. but now he only pees in there once in a while..and that is it. Is it normal for them to go all over their cage??
Is he supposed to be spitting his poop?

    The spitting feces is very normal with hamsters.
    As for the hamster potties, I really think this depends on your hamster. Hamsters will generally pee in one spot or corner of their cage and they say that is the best place to set the pottie. Some will use them and some don't want nothing to do with them. All you can do is try.
