Question
I just got this ferret from a friend, it's very healthy and it's 3 months old... I think. I was going to make a cardboard litter box for it, but i dont know if it's okay for them to eat cardboard, because what if it starts eating the box?

Answer
Hi Cheyenne,

Congratulations on your new ferret. Welcome to the wonderful world of ferret parenthood. If you ever have any other questions, please feel free to ask.

As for your current question, I am not sure that that would be a good idea. Litter boxes aren't too expensive, and they do like to move their litterboxes, so I feel like a cardboard one wouldn't be as effective as something you could mount right to the side of the cage. Plus, those litterboxes are much easier to clean. I would suggest one of those rectangular boxes with the high backs. Those are the ones that ferrets use with the most success.

I hope this helps, and if you have any further questions, feel free to ask.

Sincerely,
Emilee Andrews
