Answer
Owning a ferret is not a light decision. Ferrets become very attached to their owners so you can't take them back to the pet store like a hamster if you don't like them. Yes, they are cute, but that's not all they are and you should do some more research on what it entails to own a ferret before you decide. For some people a ferret fits their lifestyle and what they are looking for in a pet, for others it does not.

Ferrets need at least 3-4 hours outside of their cage each and every day to play, they need a safe, ferret-proofed room or house to play in, they can dig at carpet, they can eat stuffing from furniture and die if you're not careful, they can climb into things and make a mess, they may poop in corners that weren't meant to be pooped in, they get depressed if you're too busy to play with them... You get the idea. Ferrets are more work than a cat but less than a dog.
