Question
why do he intake some of his urine he's 3yrs old

Answer
Hello Carlos,

Thank you for asking!  Poor Bling Bling.  I know how stressful it is to see your kid doing something strange like that!

I have a question for you.  Has he done this before, or is this a recent event?  If it is a sudden change in behavior, it could be stress related.  My own ferret began licking her urine when I brought another ferret home.  She did not act differently otherwise. Ask yourself if there were any recent changes in your household.  Did you move or add a pet?  Is there construction or excess noise?  If so, that is probably the problem.  Place him in a quiet place away from the thing causing the stress and see if the behavior resolves.

If there has been no changes in his environment, you should bring him to your vet for a checkup.  There may be medical reasons for the behavior.

In the meantime, use a very absorbent litter in his box.  Yesterdays News is perfect [http://www.yesterdaysnews.com].  It is nontoxic, dust-free and will soak up all of the urine.  This makes it impossible to ingest it.  Never us normal clumping cat litter or wood chips. These can cause upper respiratory problems and some types of wood are very toxic!

I hope his behavior nothing more than a passing stress problem.  If it continues, please have him seen by your vet.  Best of luck!!  If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask!
