deep sleeping ferrets

this morning i woke to find my ferret not moving i was shaking him, he didn't respond so my first thought was he is dead. So i was saying my goodbyes i was about to put him in a bag and bury him. as i was doing that he woke up. Is that normal to sleep so deep like that?

Yes Very normal.....my female ferret used to scare the bejesus out of me I'd wake my male all was well then go try wake her up..pick her up rock her a bit still nothing I had to hold her up and wiggle her for her to wake up! most of the time they don't sleep this sound. I recommend you listen for a heart beat before ever deciding your ferret is dead.
