Male Pitbull in Heat?

I know this sounds strange, but my 10 month old male pit/bulldog mix is getting very very intimate with my 6year old pure pit.  She is currently in heat, and they have procreated at least once a day for the last 3 days because I cannot seem to keep them apart!  I put them in separate rooms, on different floors of my home, one inside one outside (which isn't going to work for the next few days because it is so cold here)  The problem is the male is now not sleeping, he is crying all day everyday until he can "be" with her.  I feel horrible because I know that she needs time to rest and everytime I turn around he is up in her face or up her butt...quite literally.  Please let me know if this is normal and if this could hurt my baby girl...she is my life!  Also, I need to know if once she is not in heat anymore will our male puppy go back to being our little boy or has he now become a "man" and will want to procreate all the time?

He will want to breed with her as long as he is not neutered. My suggestion is that since he is a mix and she is already six years old that you get one or both of them altered. This will not only stop all the crying but will also prevent an unwanted litter. And yes, pregnancy for an older do is dangerous so I would highly recommend at least getting him neutered. Male did do not go into great, they just go crazy over trying to get tuo the female while they are. I hope this answers your question. Good luck!
