Shih Tzu Itching

Fleas & ticks are not the problem. My vet thinks allergies, but offers no recommendations. I am considering putting small amounts of flax seed oil in her food to try to stop the itching . What do you think?

I recommend a second opinion. Shih Tzus are notorious for grass allergies. A good cortisone shot or something such as benadryl (in the proper dosage) may do the trick.
Take your pup to another vet. Perhaps they can give her something that will help relieve her discomfort.
