agressive bassett hound!

Question
Hi Amanda,
I am a newlywed who came with my  male neutered Llasa Apso
to a home with 3 dogs already.  Two of the dogs get along great
with Gizmo, but the male breeding stock  Bassett has attacked
him several times and since he has a history of killing birds and
cats, I am worried about my baby.  Right now I put the Llasa in
his veri-kennel when I am not home, and supervise them closely
when we are all in the house.  They do not go into the back yard
at the same time alone.  Do you have any ideas about how to
help the situation?
Also, the Bassett is getting an attitude. We tell him down off the
couch and  he growls at us and won't move, for example.  When
we hold his collar and help him down, he barks and growls very
agressively.  I think he thinks we are his pets, instead of him
being ours!  He is just 2 years old and I am sure has no evil
intentions,
We love all our dogs, but Bubba the bassett and Gizmo are our
'babies' and we want them to love each other like they do the
other dogs.
Thanks for your time and advice....
Holly

Answer
Hello, Holly!
I really don't know how to help you, but i think, you have to introduce the baby to that dog, that he new, that the baby is a family member too.
Also, alvays show for that dog, who isthe master. if he does something agressive on you, like barking,  or growling, you should make him listen to you. When my dog growls on me (sometimes) i shout on him - bad dog, and give with the hand thow his nose a little bit, not strongly, that he new, who's the master.

I hope i helped you,
good luck, and if smth more, white me again,i'm glad that i can help you...
Amanda
