Change in Dogs behavior

Hi,
My wife has been putting more hours at work, kids are back at school and all of a sudden the 5 year old mix (pound dog) has been going to the bathroom in the house.  I let him out before I go to work around 9 and the kids are home by 3:30. No change in food.  What is he doing?

Hello Craig, Well his body may still be on the other schedule and he has not adapted to the new one.  You might have to go back to the beginning steps like confining him, whether its in a crate or with gates for the kitchen or laundry room.  Continue letting him out when you leave and then again when the kids get home and I bet within 1 to 2 weeks his body will have adjusted.  Think of it like when you get up at a set time every morning for work, then its the weekend most people's body will still wake them up at the same time.  Your dog will adjust, just start over.  Thanks for asking, Cindy lou :)
