Question
I have a six year old mini. She is very picky about her food. We have to change it all the time because she will just stop eatting it. So since you have been around minis alot is that just a breed thing or is there something I can try to do?

Answer
Some schnauzers can become very picky if you start catering to them. First of all, do be sure you are feeding a good-quality diet (not all products are), put the dish down in front of her, and if she doesn't want to eat it, just pick the dish up and do not offer it again until the next feeding. (Here that would be the following morning...) If she walks away again, pick the dish up again and repeat. Do this until she decides to eat. Don't worry; a healthy dog will not starve itself to death.

Believe me, it *will* work. I had one dog here that I was showing and I was so desperate to try to keep him eating that he practically had me standing on my head and whistling Dixie every morning. When I finally said, "This is not ME; ENOUGH ALREADY!", I started doing what I said above. It took four days for that dog to realize that I was done catering to his every whim (guess he enjoyed that extra attention), and he finally got hungry enough to dive into his food dish.... never to turn his nose up at food again. He became a voracious eater after that.
