Hates being alone and keeps sleeping in the day!

Hi, I'd like some advice on what to do with my 9 week old puppy. He's been with us a week now and keeps sleeping during the day and has loads and loads of energy at night! Everyone is tired and can't stay up all night with him. When he is alone in his cage he cries and barks. He really hates being alone. HELP! xx

Can you bring the cage into your bedroom?

Why is he sleeping all day?   Can you take him out and let him get plenty of exercise between 5-8 at night.   Take him out in the car or to a park and let him play (make sure he has his appropriate shots first).
If you are at a park the other dogs will help you tire him out.  Also, is he warm enough in his crate.  Remember he is used to 102 degree bodies around him, if your house is any cooler that that, he is probably cold.  If he is very warm and tired he should sleep.
Make sure he has a warm blanket and a fuzzy toy to sleep with so he things he is not alone.  There are even heated mats you can buy for puppies at  Petedge.com
