First pregnancy! HELP!!!

My dog got pregnant March 6, 2007.  She is a Apple Head Chawawa.  Her vagina area right now is swelling.  She is breathing a little deep.  Her little nipples are enlarged.  She lays on her side, raises her leg, allows me to rub her belly, which she doesn't normally allow me to do that, and she lets me look at her vagina, which she does let me do that either.  HELP!  What do I do?!?!

A dog's normal gestation period is 63 days, but it can be anywhere from 55 to 68 days. It all depends on the actual date of fertilization of the eggs.

It has been long enough and your dog should have already had her pups. Being a small/toy breed, I would get her to the vet right away. She may need a c-section to deliver these pups. At this point (approx 69 days), she is going to need help or there could be complications.

Please get her in today! Don't let her just try to have them on her own now. I hope you have a vet lined up that can help her out. Chihuahua's are prone to delivery problems because of their minutive size and the size of the puppies heads. It may be that you will want to spay her will they are doing the c-section. Breeding these tiny dogs can be really dangerous AND EXPENSIVE.
