Question
my 2 year old male boxer developed a swelling on his lip this morning. is there anything i can do to make it go away. it is about the size of a golfball maybe a little smaller. he doesn't eat when you touch it and there is no puss. he is eating and acting perfectly normal.

Answer
Hi there,

There are several different things that can cause facial swelling. The most common causes would be an infection, bug bite, muscle inflammation, and cancer.

There is little home care for facial swelling.
Even though your dog is eating and acting normal, a lump the size of a gold ball certainly isn't normal. If this lump has not gone away in two to three days, your dog should be examined by your veterinarian.

Best of luck,
Patti
