whining in kennel

Question
I have a 1 yr. old miniature poodle who has always slept in her crate at night and stays in it during the day while we are at work.  When the last person goes to sleep, they put her in the crate with no problems.  However, a few months ago, my oldest daughter started letting her sleep at the bottom of her bed.  Recently, she has been having accidents in the house before we get up or after we go to sleep, so I decided to start putting her back in the kennel at night.  She whined all night long until I couldn't stand it anymore and I let her out.  Any suggestions for getting her to sleep in the crate again?

Answer
Feed her in her crate, take her to obedience classes, and start practicing "Nothing in Life is Free" with her to establish dominance over the dog. http://k9deb.com/nilif.htm

When she starts fussing, loudly and firmly tell her to "BE QUIET!" If she continues, throw something at the crate to startle her, such as a shoe or a soda pop can filled with a half-dozen pennies, and loudly tell her to "BE QUIET" at the same time the object hits and startles her. Praise her quietly when she is quiet.... "gooood quiet".

Also NEVER let the dog out of the crate when she is fussing; she will just be louder the next time she wants out and you will create a monster.

You might also have her checked to be sure that she does not have a bladder infection.
