Question
QUESTION: i need a little bit of help my dog has a big sore on the left side of face.  it was small 2 days ago now it is 2 inches long and 2 inches wide part of it is a scab and part of it is red.  i am abit concern but my husband has been cleaning it with peroxide and warm water  is there any we should and can you tell me more or less what it might be

ANSWER: Hi Darlene and thanks for your question.

While I'm not there to see the sore, it isn't uncommon for a dog to get an abcessed tooth. It can manifest as sores on the "cheek" area of the face and it can be rather gross.

If this is in fact an abcess, it would probably affect your dogs appetite and/or activity level. S/he may have a fever and may even vomit a little.

Is there any discharge from this place (a bloody/pus-like fluid)?

It would probably be worth a trip to the vet and have it checked out. It would definately need to be treated with antibiotics if nothing else, as it sounds like it could be infected.

Please keep me posted.

Answer
Thanks for the additional information, but it still seems like some type of infected wound and should be seen by a veterinarian. Here is a list of vets in your area http://www.yellowpages.com/sp/yellowpages/ypresults.jsp?refined_category=Veterin
I'm sure you can find one on the list that can help your dog out.
