Questionyes my 3yr old boy chihuahua has a lump/bump on his nose the size of a dime what would cause such a thing?
thanks
AnswerRandy,
Lumps and bumps can be caused by all kinds of things. It can be anything from a sebaceous cyst (pimple) to a tumor.
I suggest you see you vet as soon as possible and have the lump looked at. Your vet should do what is called a Fine Needle Aspirate which is where they stick a small needle into the mass and collect cell samples. Then the vet should look at the cells under the microscope to determine what they are.
If it is a tumor, removal of it may be necessary and a biopsy should be done to make sure it is not cancerous.
Being that your pet is only 3 years old, a tumor is unlikely but not impossible.
Good luck and have a great weekend,
Laura
