Chihuahua Puppy not eating

I have a 4 month old Chihuahua that has not eaten in 3 days,  his eyes look dull and I hear is stomach growling but he won't even respond to his favorite treats.  I was not worried until today as he still had energy and was playing with our other dog as he usually does.  I am hesistant to take him to the vet as I have taken him 3 times in the past month for other reasons which turned out to be nothing.  Is there anthing I can do myself?

Hello Natalie, this is unusual as most puppies eat all the time.  Maybe the food is to large for him.  Get puppy food that has small bites for small dogs such as yours,  If it is still to big go back to the method of soaking it in warm water, at least until he starts eating again.  Make sure he is still drinking water he cannot do with out that, food could go without for maybe 5 to 7 days, but even that may be to long for such a small dog.  Do your best to entice him and I think making his food more assessable might help.  Thanks for asking, Cindy Lou :)
