behavior after being spayed

Question
I have a 3yo teacup poodle. She has never been bred and I just got her spayed.  She now is hoarding stuffed animals, not eating properly and growling at my other male dogs who have been her buddies until now.  Is she grieving or what? Should I take the stuffed animals away from her?

Answer
She may have just been spayed, but she is having a false pregnancy due to leftover hormones in her system. Look back and I'll bet that she was in season about two months ago. :)  

Your poodle thinks that she has just whelped, the stuffed animals are her babies, and she doing what any good mommy does... protecting her babies from the other dogs in the house. Just let her be and ignore her behavior; she will be back to normal in a few days.
