Question
my two boy Chihuahuas mostly my older one cant get along, the older one barks sometimes at the puppy and seems like he will attack him, is it impossible for them to get along or for my older one to accept that there is a new dog in the house?, they have only been together for a week so does he still need time as the puppy gets older. i don't want them to hurt each other if they are alone. what can i do? the puppy also chews on alot of things he should not.

Answer
Well a week really isn't that long, but to there are a few things you can do to help

First what you can try is let them romp in yard together, wearing muzzles(they do make toy sized ones)that way they get to know each other without hurting one another

After that goes ok after a while you can take the muzzles off,but let them drag leashes, that way in case things get ugly, you can pull them apart without getting bitten

As for when you are not home,a good idea would be to put them in separate rooms or even crates

A crate will be a great idea to stop the puppy from chewing things when you are not home
