Question
Hello, I have a male 8 month old chihuahua. My question is why does he hate to have a collar put on him or anything else put on him? I took his collar off 1 time to give him a bath and he like to eat my hands up trying to put it back on him so, now I bathe him with it on and it has to dry while on his neck. I want to walk him on a leash but, if I put a harness on him (in which is a major ordeal)he won't move he just sits in the same spot shaking.I know people say how aggressive chi's can be but,my daughter has his  sister in which came from the same litter and she will let you put anything on her she has such a sweet nature to her. Please help!

Answer
If getting out in front and coaxing doesn't get a puppy moving, try dropping behind it and running by in baby steps calling ''Go, go, go!'' In a happy, excited voice.

One of the reasons people thing Chis are aggressive is that many people neglect to obedience train them.  The key to most behavior problems is approaching things using the dog's natural instincts. Dogs see all the people and dogs in the household as a pack with each having their own rank in the pack and a top dog. Life is much easier if the 2 legged pack members outrank the 4 legged ones. You can learn to play the role of top dog by reading some books or going to a good obedience class. A good obedience class or book is about you being top dog, not about rewarding standard commands with a treat. Neutering him if not already wouyld help too.
