Our new Dalmation

Hi Kristin,

We have recently welcomed into our home a 3 yr old lab/dalmation x, we have only has him a week & he has come from a large family & 3 other dogs, so was never left on his own, they had to give him up because there house burn't down & they are in rental accomodation. He seems to have settled in with us but hw whimpers or pines alot, he has plenty of exercise, water & food. Could it be because he is missing his old family, or does this breed do it amyway? I didn't want toask the prev owner as they were very upset to give him up in the first place. I look forward to your advise.

He could be looking for his family,and he might feel 'lost' This is fairly common with newly adopted dogs-in time it goes away as he becomes used to his new routine

so this is something that will go away in time once he is settled,and that can take about two or three weeks
