Question
Molly has been in heat for about three or four days and is bleeding.  Just spots when lying down but when i pick her up
its larger spots.  Is this normal.  i know you are not a veterinarian but in your experience is this normal.  Does the blood pool sort of like in female humans when lying down and then more comes out when up???  I am so worried have been up and crying.  She is not as active as usual and this scares me to death   can you help me maybe   with advice   if she is not better by am i am taking her to emergency hospital

Answer
Frankly, I've never noticed as I don't usually tend to pick up my bitches when they are in season, but mine do tend to keep themselves clean, for the most part.

All bitches can flow at different rates, at different seasons, depending on where they are in their cycle. And not all are created equal. Some bitches can have various, ah... densities to their hymens (if they have never been bred). I once had a bitch that was difficult to breed, but did get her bred, and when she went into labor, she had to have a C-section because her hymen had somehow never been broken and she could not pass the first puppy.

I don't see why a hymen, depending on how it is formed in an individual, couldn't cause the blood to pool in some circumstances, and when the dog is moved around, the blood then flows out more readily.

Don't get too upset, and I certainly wouldn't rush her into the emergency clinic over this. If you are still worried on Monday, or see anything else that bothers you, give your regular vet a call on Monday in order to ease your mind. She will be in season for three weeks, and a month after she is done, I would recommend that you have her spayed.
