poison ivy on puppies and dogs

i have 6 english mastiff pups and their parents your opinion can dogs or puppies get poison ivy on thier bellys where there is no hair to protect them

Answer
It is much more common for family members to pick up poison ivy from the dog's hair than it is for the dog to have symptoms. But, apparently, if the oils from the plant do get down to the dog's skin, it can get a reaction.

I'm not one for chemicals, but that is one plant I would knock down pretty darn quick if it was growing on our property.
