Yellow Lab Shedding

Question
Is it normal for a yellow lab to shed in the winter?  As it gets colder in Idaho this winter, our lab is shedding more everyday.  We now brush him everyday, and it doesn't seem to end.  Could there be something wrong with him or is winter shedding normal?

Answer
Although they go through a major shed spring and fall, they shed year around.  I would think the worst of it would be over.  What are you feeding?  Most labs will do just fine on the common brands of dry dog chow and nothing else.  If you are adding anything to his diet, you could be messing up the careful balance and harming his coat.  If you are, try cutting it out and feeding nothing except dog chow.
