Question
My Jack Russell terrier gave birth about a week ago. It's her first litter, and she gave birth to two healthy female puppies. A few days ago, I noticed one of her nipples was larger than the rest, and that she wasn't letting the puppies nurse from it. It's still just as swollen, though there's not a lot of redness. She doesn't mind if I poke at it, and doesn't appear to be in any distress. She's still eating well and in high spirits. The puppies look healthy as well. I've done some reading on the internet, and I know there are disorders that start like this that are very serious. I want her to be okay, but we can't afford a trip to the vet right now. Any help you could give me would be great. Thank you so much!

Answer
HOW DARE YOU
How dare you irresponsibly breed your dog without knowing anything about breeding and without any funds to seek veterinary attention! I am absolutely disgusted! TAKE THE DOG TO THE VET, HAVE IT DESEXED, HAVE THE PUPPIES WORMED AND VACCINATED AND NEVER EVER EVER BREED AGAIN

DO NOT BREED OR BUY WHILE HOMELESS DIE

absolutely irresponsible and disgusting, you do not deserve a dog, what if she needed a ceasarian, what if she develops eclampsia (very common in a dog her size!!) what if it is mastitis????? get your own life and stop using your dog for a hobby farm
